Lars Mikkelsen3-765x1024At age 27 he began his studies at the National Theatre School of Denmark from which he was graduated in the year 1995. Apart from his role in the drama series "The Killing, he also appeared in Borgen III, a Danish drama series. He played Charles Augustus Magnussen, a blackmailer, in an episode of BBC drama Sherlock. In the American TV show House of Cards, he played the role of the president of Russia. In 2018, he won an International Emmy Award for his part as the president of Russia on the Danish television drama Herrens Veje. It was broadcast in the UK in the year 2019. He claimed that his brother and he first began to learn English through listening to and studying the Monty Python songs.
