Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is a American and Canadian artist and singer. There are more than 20 albums. Her music is categorized as alternative rock, folk rock, but it also has hints of jazz and hip-hop. Ani Difranco has been deemed as a feminist icon and Grammy award winner. As one of first female artists in the 90s, she founded her own label. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23rd of 1970, the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco The couple had met while attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her mother and father were both from Montreal origin. Ani's song, 32 Flavors, was composed by her and sung by Ani. The song is from her 1995 album Not a Pretty Girl, which was DiFranco's sixth studio release. A version of the song is featured on the film Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate. DiFranco apologized in 2013 when it was reported that she would be hosting an event for three days at a Louisiana slave plantation. She cancelled it but the majority of people (including this piece) did not show any remorse. DiFranco apologized a couple of days afterward. The singer is well-known for her Little Folksinger songs, however she's collaborated with many music genres, that range from Pete Seeger to Chuck D. The singer lives in New Orleans. Ani DiFranco is with Kristen Ford. At the age of 14, she began writing her own songs. They continued to be performed at coffee houses and bars throughout her teenage years. DiFranco has graduated aged 16 from Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts High School, began to study at Buffalo State College.
