Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco (born Angela Maria Ani DiFranco) is a American and Canadian artist and singer. There are more than 20 albums. Her music is categorized as alternative rock, folk rock, but it also has hints of jazz and hip-hop. Ani Difranco has been deemed as a feminist icon and Grammy award winner. As one of first female artists in the 90s, she founded her own label. DiFranco was born in Buffalo New York on September 23rd of 1970, the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross) and Dante Americo DiFranco The couple had met while attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her mother and father were both from Montreal origin. Ani's song, 32 Flavors, was composed by her and sung by Ani. DiFranco apologized in 2013 when it was reported that she would be hosting an event for three days at a Louisiana slave plantation.
